I just bought the entire Babylon 5 series & the 7 movies. I will be watching the series for the first time starting (of course) with season 1. What seasons should I insert and watch each of the 7 movies below in order for them to make sense chronologically?
In The Beginning
The Gathering
Thirdspace
River Of Souls
The Legend of the Rangers
A Call To Arms
The Lost Tales

Answer
If we're talking chronologically, then you should do this:

Watch "The Gathering".

Then watch Season 1 and 2 of Babylon 5.

Then watch "thirdspace", though that could easily be watched later, as it is a standalone story that does not have any bearing on anything else in Babylon 5

Then watch seasons 3, 4, 5 of Babylon 5.

Then look at the other stuff, in pretty much the order that you mentioned it above.

Kudos for you for watching Babylon 5, I think it is the greatest sci-fi show ever. The TV episodes are the essential core of the story, and the specials are quite optional. For most of those specials, they are a retrospective; they are presented as a character at the end of the story re-telling something that happened earlier on.

Once you've done season 3, you can take a look at "In the Beginning", but it doesn't matter if you see it later on. Just don't look at it before the first 2 seasons at least. Basically, "The Gathering" (which is the pilot episode) and "Thirdspace" (which is set some time between seasons 2 and 3) are the only things you should consider seeing before the end of the TV series.

Honestly, the TV series is magnificent, especially seasons 2, 3, and 4, but the specials are average at best. There are a couple of boring episodes in season 1, but do persist, it is so worth it...

You have a glorious journey ahead of you. I LOVE this show.

When are they going to come out with Blu Ray versions of Star Trek series?

I was wondering when if ever they will come out with Blu Ray editions of Star Trek NG, DS9,Voyager, and Enterprise?

Also, will they ever make Blu Ray editions of the Star Gate SG1, and Atlantis? Also Blu Ray edition of Babylon 5 series?

Answer
I'm not sure if they ever will. It all depends on whether or not blue-ray takes off like DVDs did, making it our typical media form.

And even then, to quote William Shatner's version of Elton John's Rocket Man "It's gonna be a long long time."

Since Star Trek NG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise were all viewed as low rated and not nearly as popular as TOS or TNG, companies owning the rights to the shows and investing in the release and restoration of tv shows and movies being released on blue-ray will probably not want to waste the money needed to release them on blue-ray. The money would be better invested in another movie or series that was much more popular.

The Original Series is available on blue-ray currently along with the series movies.

If any of the series you listed would be released on blue-ray, I would say it would be Voyager, as it was the least unpopular.

It is very likely you will be seeing at least one or multiple seasons of Star Gate and Babylon 5 as those are very popular sci-fi series that have large fan bases. I'm not too sure about Atlantis, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hope this helps! Live Long and Prosper \\//_

Answer
The NG never. I believe first to come out will be the Star Gate series.
