teens series image

I am searching for a teen series title of books from the 90's. I remember the young girl moved to a new town with her father. Her father worked for the government or some other type or research organization. She like to run, and much of the book is centered on running for pleasure. In the book the young girl meets/saves a young boy(who may or may not have special powers). The two are chased by the government after her father goes missing, and it evolves from there. Please help me!
It is not H-Bomb Girl.
Answer
is it H-bomb girl? not exactly what you said but it sounds really similar. Also if you want to find this book just go to goodreads and type in the tags, good luck
"The Doom Stone"! lol i read the book before and i forgot all about it, think that's what you are looking for.
if it isnt "The Doom Stone" I dont know if there is any book like the one you described, sorry.

Is it a good idea to write a teen series?
Natalie
I love reading teen series although I'm 21 and I want to start my own but I'm not planning on making it about rich kids since there are so many like that already. In fact, I want to center it about some girls who are either on the gymnastics team or the cheerleading squad, which are the two things I did in high school. Is that a good idea or does it sound boring?
Answer
It is always a good idea to write what you like best and what you know, that way it's easier to stay connected to the story.
I wish you luck in your endeavours, but I have to warn you that teen lit is seriously overpopulated with many novels similar in premise as your idea. If you make the story the story interesting, should have no problem finding a fan base. Try writing a short story in the interim; this will give you an idea of whether or not you have enough to run with the idea through multiple stories. You may have to write your series in full before you even get anyone to look at it. That will either be a labour of love or a wasted event. Even if they don't get touched by agents or publishers until after you have written other things, you at least will have the satisfaction of knowing you've told the story you wanted to tell.
If you start with a plot graph and well thought out characters, there's no reason that you cannot make a great story with dramatic twists, turns, romances and challenges that keep your reader hooked. Cliffhangers are your friend, believe me!
