Hi, I'm trying to figure out what parts would be best for a good gaming PC these days. My old PC got destroyed by a lightning strike recently, and the insurance is willing to pay for a replacement. I thought now would be a good time to get parts for a more up-to-date PC for gaming. However, I can't go too overboard since the insurance company might not pay for it... Do these parts seem good? Do you all have any suggestions for me? thanks!

I would go with the alternative. AMD was always the best gaming cpus. Depending on what games you want to play I am using an AMD dual core ddr 2 2 gigs of ram asus mainboard and a 580x ge force pci express video card wich works amazingly with test drive unlimited 2 and just cause 2. Nothing fancy but it works. I would like to upgrade it to something like your 2nd alternative.

Where does a DC Comics Newbie start?
Dan B
I have been a fan of the DC Cartoons since I was a little kid, following the older Batman and Superman shows, up through the Justice League: Unlimited.
I am considering starting to read the comics, but as a new reader, it seems a little overwhelming. I don't want to start at the old vintage stuff, but I want to get the whole current storyline.
So my question, in DC Comics, what "modern" series, which have not been retconned, should I start with? Also, I'd prefer something more mature than the older 60's through 80's storylines.

DC is always hard to pick up because of the sheer number of continuities!
I think you should read stuff like Batman: Year One, Batman: The Killing Joke, Batman: Hush, Superman Batman magazine, Superman: Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow? (please note that this is an Elseworlds story, but it gets you in touch with Superman's chronology), Crisis on Infinite Earths, Green Lantern: Rebirth, (the Red Hood Saga in Batman also fills in details for Infinite Crisis among others) etc.
to get a feel for whats been happening.
Then head on to Countdown to Infinite Crisis, The OMAC Project, Rann-Thanagar War, Day of Vengeance, Villains United and Infinite Crisis, One Year Later, 52, World War III and then Countdown to Final Crisis, Death of the New Gods, Salvation Run and go on to Final Crisis when it comes.
You shouldn't be too overwhelmed since JL Unlimited had some serious continuity stories as well.

there's some other must see stories.
Sometimes these have important tie-ups, especially in the JLA series, but this can be overlooked if you connect the pieces!

Have Superman and Captain Marvel ever fought?

Answer
Superman and Captain Marvel (Powered by Shazam), have had several good battles.
The most recent was in the Day of Vengeance Cross over titles in: Action Comics #826, Adventures of Superman #639 and Superman #216. During this Mini, Eclipso’s stone infected superman and Captain Marvel had to fight Superman to win.
In other continuities, Superman was beaten down pretty hard by Captain Marvel in the Elseworlds Tale, Kingdom Come. In this story, Captain Marvel has been corrupted and is used to take out Superman.
They also fought in the non-canon but not quiet Elseworlds tale Justice. In this maxi-series, Superman is being controlled, and Captain Marvel is the only one that can stop him. Captain Marvel even has to go so far as throwing him into the Sun.
They also had a very good battle in the Animated Series Justice League Unlimited (Clash Season 4, Episode 7.)
